What is most important to you in a dog groomer?
Your dog or puppy's grooming experience at Shear Elegance Pet Services begins with a greeting process designed to make your dog feel comfortable and welcomed. We greet your puppy as a new member of our "Pack", as another dog would using the sense of smell. We ask that you walk your dog or puppy in rather than carry him. This process of "meeting and greeting" every dog that comes through the doors at Shear Elegance Pet Services is repeated at every grooming visit.
We also want you, our client's owner to feel comfortable. We will discuss your puppy's coat, style and expectations you may have all the while letting you and your puppy become acquainted with our facility, as well as our friendly and knowledgeable staff.
At Shear Elegance Pet Services, our philosophy on the way a dog should be groomed is based on your desire for how your dog should look. When working with a puppy or dog not used to being groomed, we begin the process by slowly working into a full adult clip. Everything is done in small intervals and through frequent, non-stressful visits so that your puppy becomes comfortable with being groomed.
What is a standard full grooming?
A thorough brush and combing, unless a certain style has been requested, such as using the clippers on the body will be done on your dog. Before the bath, the nails are cut and the ears are cleaned. Then the bath is done using either our Hypo-Allergenic shampoo or other types depending our your dog's skin condition. Since this is not a "natural" process for a dog we follow with a rest for your dog in the cage. We then brush and fluff dry. The final touches, which include the requested style by the owner. Working with your dog and teaching it to stay calm on the table, is put into practice during the full grooming.
We pride ourselves on limiting restraints when grooming your animal.
